Spanish-speaking area: While only a few Spaniards are among the most influential thought leaders in the Spanish-speaking area, South Americans, by contrast, occupy 15 of the top 20 places in this language area.
The Hispanic spirit seems to be situated quite far to the left: Fidel Castro ranks number one, and most of the thought leaders following him tend to fall on the left side of the political spectrum. ILD's Hernando de Soto has been ranked number 60 on this years list:
