«Without access to property rights, 2/3 of the world´s population is excluded from the global economy.»

The ILD

The ILD is focused on creating modern legal frameworks that help the poor of the developing and ex-communist world access property and business rights and turn their assets into leverageable capital. The ILD has discovered not only how to locate extralegal businesses and assets, but also how to redesign and put into operation legal and administrative property systems so that the owners of those businesses and assets will voluntarily move them from the extralegal economy into the legal one.

ILD’s Property Paradigm

Since the mid-1990s right up until 2008, nearly everyone in the Third World seemed to agree: markets and the rule of law were the time-tested solutions to create prosperity for all our people, including the poorest; and we were all headed in that direction. To this worldview the ILD added its own breakthrough property paradigm: for real sustainable economic growth to occur and for the rule of law to gel, widespread property rights were more important to development than suspected. Stemming from the ILD’s property rights paradigm the ILD has developed four strategies that respond to today´s economic and social challenges that we have labeled: “The Arab Spring”, “The Avatar Myths”, the “Knowledge Crisis”, and “Hidden Discrimination against Women.”
